As an Area Geologist in Scotland, you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment alongside a close-knit group of colleagues. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Earth Science graduate or existing Geologist looking to travel and develop knowledge of the extractive industry.

You’re not someone who shies away from challenge; you can think quickly on your feet and make timely decisions all while remaining positive and professional. From liaising with our quarry managers, health and safety team, operations, statutory bodies and landowners, to maximising permitted reserves and securing mineral resources for the future; each day is guaranteed to be different. 

Breedon is a leading construction materials group in Great Britain and Ireland. We produce cement, aggregates, asphalt, ready-mixed concrete, Welsh slate and specialist concrete and clay products and offer a range of contracting services. 

As part of this role, you will assist in the geological function across the region and be responsible for promoting compliance of safe working practices in line with the Quarry Regulations 1999.  You will be expected to identify and progress extensions to existing sites in order to maintain supply to existing markets.

Furthermore, being an essential part of the Land and Mineral Resources Scotland team, you will undertake reserve and resource reporting to industry standards, forming the basis of future planning application projects.  You will be a leading contributor to the Company’s zero harm culture by maintaining our sustained standards of excellence in all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental Management.
