Company looks to the future with Matt Tallon and Liz Garvey appointed to the senior leadership team

FM Conway have further strengthened their senior leadership team with the appointment of Matt Tallon and Liz Garvey to the roles of sustainability director and HR director respectively.

Mr Tallon joins the Aggregates and Asphalt senior leadership team in the new role of sustainability director and will support the long-term stability of the business with a critical focus on decarbonization, commodity investment, and strategic logistics.

Joining FM Conway from Clarkson plc, he brings with him more than a decade of experience and expertise in commodity markets and shipping logistics.

Mr Tallon will now be committed to ensuring that FM Conway remain sustainable whilst tackling the business’ carbon footprint, as well as looking at growth opportunities for the company’s self-delivery capabilities and supply chain efficiencies.

Commenting on his new role, Mr Tallon said: ‘I am excited to join this fantastic business and help in the development and growth of business operations. FM Conway have gone from strength to strength in recent years and I hope to continue building on their great legacy as an industry leader in recycling and sustainability.

‘The business has always pushed for critical thinking and innovative solutions and my focus will be on ensuring that FM Conway keep growing and delivering for our customers, for many years to come.’

Meanwhile, Ms Garvey rejoins the business as HR director, having recently been responsible for the Lindner Group’s UK HR function.

A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), she initially joined the FM Conway HR team in 2011 and returns to the business to focus on enhancing the experience of work at FM Conway and to build on the work being delivered by the company’s HR and Learning & Development teams.

Ms Garvey said: ‘My focus will be on people and ensuring they have the right support when they need it, with a clear emphasis on planning for the future and equipping our people with the tools and resources they need to operate and innovate in the business environment of today and tomorrow.’
