Rotary cutter manufacturer expands into the crusher and screening bucket sector

GERMAN rotary cutter manufacturers Rokla GmbH, who operate under the Rockwheel brand, have acquired Austrian crusher and screener bucket specialists Hartl Engineering & Marketing GmbH for an undisclosed sum.

The deal includes the use of the Hartl brand, inventory and intellectual property, but does not include the Hartl family’s Modular Solutions Division.

Building on a long history of the Hartl family name in the crushing sector, Hartl Engineering & Marketing GmbH were established in 2011 by brothers Dominik and Alexander Hartl, whilst Rokla have been manufacturing and marketing rotary cutters under the Rockwheel brand since 2013.

Commenting on the acquisition, Robert Piasecki, managing partner of Rokla, said: ‘The market for Hartl’s product offering has developed well in recent years and this acquisition promises to further strengthen Rokla’s position as a leading supplier of excavator attachments.

‘Rockwheel and Hartl products are particularly complementary, making the rationale behind the deal even more compelling for customers. In short, we concentrate the efforts.’

Dominik Hartl added: ‘With Rokla, we have found the ideal buyer. It is a dynamic, owner-driven company and a market leader in its respective segment. We are confident that Rokla will help deliver Hartl further success, benefiting customers, distributors and suppliers alike.’
