Nynas appoint technical & research director

Bitumen specialist Carl Robertus takes over responsibility for technical developments

NYNAS have appointed Carl Robertus as technical and research director, effective 1 December 2015, with responsibility for technical developments in bitumen.

Mr Robertus has 25 years’ industry experience and holds a doctorate in physics, having undertaken research that included measuring the structure and interactions in micro-emulsions with the aid of X-rays.

During his career he has held a number of leading positions in the areas of marketing, sales, manufacturing and technology, and has also been involved in a number of leading industry organizations, including a term of office as President of Eurobitume.

Commenting on his appointment, Jim Christie, business area director with Nynas Bitumen UK, said: ‘I am delighted that Carl has been able to join us; in truth, he is someone who’s services and experience we have coveted from afar. His background complements perfectly Nynas’ position as a bitumen specialist and will allow us to further develop in this direction.’
