Production Manager - Appleford, Oxfordshire

 

Hanson is one of the UK’s largest suppliers of construction materials and part of the HeidelbergCement Group.

We are seeking an experienced production manager to oversee day to day production at our asphalt plant in Appleford, near Abingdon.

Reporting to the Area Operations Manager, this position covers all aspects of production, including materials and process optimisation, product quality and effective team management, as well as ensuring all works are carried out safely, in line with the company’s exacting standards.

This role requires a rapid thinker and involves seeking continuous improvement across all plant operations – from raw materials, to product quality, to customer service. The successful candidate will have previous experience of production management within the asphalt industry, preferably with a relevant degree, or appropriate qualification. An understanding of the factors influencing transport scheduling for delivery and the link to customer requirements would be an advantage.

You will have a flexible approach along with a strong track record in achieving targets, plus a strong working knowledge of static and mobile plant. An effective leader, able to inspire your team, you will also be computer literate as well as an excellent communicator. Familiar with current health, safety and environmental regulations, you will be ready to champion our zero-harm approach to workplace safety.
